Russian Troika

The horse sculptures were made in our props workshop using a combined method: the heads were 3D printed and the bodies were cut from foam. After post-processing with fiberglass mat, the sculptures were painted white and then hand painted in the Gzhel style, with blue flowers and ornaments on the bodies, manes and hooves.

The composition was mounted on a wall, with the figures projecting from the surface in relief. Foam kept the large sculptures lightweight. The sculpture became one of the festival’s main attractions: crowds of guests took photos in front of it, and many shared them on social media, organically extending the project’s reach far beyond the venue itself.
